Michael Oberle, Head Medical Technology

Michael Oberle heads the Health Supporting Systems group, which is an answer to the increasing demand for research on possible implications of electromagnetic radiation due to the application of wireless technologies in medical devices. Risk assessments of health hazards of wireless technologies, compliance testing, or the optimization of intra-body wireless communication systems through reliable transmission models of the human body, are examples for the intended fields of operation. The group aims to support medical device manufacturers and technology providers as well as research institutions.

Michael received the Dipl. Ing. degree in Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Karlsruhe, Germany, in 1993, and the Ph.D. degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, Switzerland, in 2002. For almost ten years he has been involved in R&D of miniaturized sensing and tele-monitoring devices in medicine.

Michael was co-founder and CEO of Miromico AG. Since 2005 he is with Schmid & Partner Engineering AG, where he is building-up a new medical technology division.
