Overview and Historical Background

SEMCAD, the Simulation platform for EMC, Antenna Design and Dosimetry, has been explicitly developed to meet the electromagnetic TCAD needs of the wireless industry.

In combination with the near-field scanner DASY4, SEMCAD provides the most advanced set of analysis and optimization tools for antennas embedded in complex environments. The first version was developed within the framework of the Swiss priority research program MINAST and in cooperation with major R&D departments of the mobile industry.

Schmid & Partner Engineering AG has entered a 3-year research project with the two leading Swiss research institutions in computational electrodynamics, IT’IS and IIS of the ETH in Zurich, to develop new advanced features, improve efficiency and increase the precision and reliability of SEMCAD's performance prediction.

This effort will be substantially supported by the Swiss Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI) and the Mobile Manufacturing Forum (MMF). The commitment of Schmid & Partner Engineering is not only to be the pacemaker in experimental but also in numerical design tools for the wireless industry.
