Release of SEMCAD Poser

SEMCAD X Poser Package
has been developed to allow deformation of all the supported human/animal model. It is now possible to deform the underlying rigid skeleton by specifying the required orientation at the articulated joints. Various models are available from SPEAG which have been prepared for positioning. It is also possible to add posing abilities to own models. Novel techniques allow deformations to be smoothly visualized in real time. Rapid switching between pre-saved (and user-defined) postures can be performed.

The implemented poser is based on techniques developed for animation pictures features. It offers the following benefits:
  • easy articulation of joints in their physiological ranges
  • deformation of the soft tissue without loss of connectivity and without changes in the total tissue volume
  • predefined postures for standing, sitting and lying persons
This poser combined with the most detailed human models is highly valuable when performing exposure evaluations in real situations, such as work places, and device optimization, e.g., hand-held devices, body-mounted or implantable devices, to a new level of sophistication.

Release of SEMCAD Huygens

SPEAG in cooperation with the IT’IS Foundation has developed a novel, user-friendly generalized interface, the Generalized Huygens Box that effectively couples different solvers without accelerating error propagation. It is based on the concepts of the Huygens Box, a generalized Total-Field Scattered-Field (TFSF) plane wave excitation, and the Block Iterative Technique, which solves weakly coupled problems effectively.

The novel general Huygens Box technique and its implementation have proven to be a user-friendly and open interface to bridge multiple spatial dimensions, a major breakthrough for application engineers to analyze the EM issues of current and future devices and applications. The SEMCAD Huygens is easy to use and can be interfaced with any commercial or in-house code or even measurement results.

SPEAG is developing new algorithms to enhance the effectiveness of this new technique while collaborating with different software houses to provide user-friendly interfaces with different EM packages and the SEMCAD X solver family.

New DASY4 and DASY5 Software Release

Based on our customers valuable feedback, we are pleased to announce a new release of the DASY4 and DASY5 software, namely:

DASY4 V4.7 B71 and SEMCAD V1.8 B184

DASY5 V5.0 B119 and SEMCAD-X V13.2 B 87

The new DASY4 release provides new features in the following areas:

HAC RF & T-coil
  •  updates to the latest standard versions ANSI C63.19-2006 and ANSI C63.19-2007
  •  visualization of the frequency response mask corrected to 300 - 3000 kHz
  •  program feedback for compliant distance setting
  •  increased measurement accuracy by compensating the effect of the dielectric material of the Test Arch on the electric field at close distances
  •  new HAC Arch phantom model for easier definition of measurement settings
  •  updated predefined files

SAR
  • updated predefined files and listing/setting for communication systems
General
  • DASY4 measurement software updated with some minor fixes without influence on the measurement.

The new DASY5 release provides new features in the following areas:

Robot Movements
  •  the bug of the CS8 robot series leading to singularity problems in some rare instants could be eliminated by enhanced robot movement predictions in the DASY software. The speed settings for the single movement segments was further accelerated. Joint limits for the NEO systems have been relaxed providing more flexibility during measurements.
Universal (Pseudo-Vector) Probes
  • after successful completion of a research project, SPEAG is proud to announce a new probe type. Vector probes are the most accurate and the only truly universal probes, i.e., vector probes are the only probes that measure without additional isotropic errors in different media if sensitivity/ConvF, sensor angles and boundary compensation parameters are calibrated for the corresponding medium. Furthermore, vector probes provide much useful additional information: E- and H-field polarization of the near-field and far-field; information about amplitude and directions of RF currents inside devices;  information about the cause of parasitic coupling, i.e., what couples from where to what.
In summary, vector probes are universal probes and a great analysis tool. They should be used wherever great precision is needed, field polarization must be validated or parasitic currents detected. The measurement time compared to isotropic probes is only increased by just more than a factor two (minimally three measurements at different angles need to be taken at each measurement point).

SAR
  • updated predefined files and listing/setting for communication systems
General
  • introduction of new licensing scheme (SAR, AIR, PRO and NEO license levels)
  • instant report for all procedures or single jobs within a measurement file automatically printed by right-click
  • several software restrictions and bugs have been removed

Please contact info@speag.com for more information!
