SEMCAD X University/Educational Program

SEMCAD X, having its origin within the well renowned Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) motivates SPEAG to further greatly support educational environments. We do thus offer a variety of possibilities to use SEMCAD X at Universities, research institutions, within classes and for students.

SEMCAD for Science Program                                                                                                                                  

SEMCAD for Science Program grants the researcher maximum two non-exclusive and non-transferable SEMCAD X licences. The software provides its unlimited functionality within the framework of features of the commercially available standard package. Researcher shall only use SEMCAD X for scientific research purposes at universities or academic institutes. Please contact SEMCAD Sales for further details.

SEMCAD Student Award                                                                                                                             

SEMCAD X Student Research Award is organized every year to recognize outstanding research in the field of numerical simulation of electromagnetic fields being done in universities and other academic institutions.

SEMCAD Educational License

SEMCAD X Light                                                                                                                                                                    

SEMCAD X Light is free of charge for universities and especially tailored for educational purposes in order to allow an easy and straigh-forward understanding of Electromagnetics. It ecompasses most Features which are available in the full version of SEMCAD X. Campus licenses and special packages containing multiple licenses are available.

Some of the SEMCAD X Light limitations (when compared to the full SEMCAD X release) include the following:

• Maximum of 10 solid modeling objects and materials per simulation project possible
• Grid size limited to 1 million cells
• Reduced import capabilities
• Reduced modeling complexity
• Optimization Platform disabled
• SPICE Co-Simulation Platform disabled
• no support for hardware acceleration
