SEMCAD X Huygens Box

SPEAG in cooperation with the IT’IS Foundation has developed a novel, user-friendly generalized interface, the Generalized Huygens Box that effectively couples different solvers without accelerating error propagation. It is based on the concepts of the Huygens Box, a generalized Total-Field Scattered-Field (TFSF) plane wave excitation, and the Block Iterative Technique, which solves weakly coupled problems effectively.

The novel general Huygens Box technique and its implementation have proven to be a user-friendly and open interface to bridge multiple spatial dimensions, a major breakthrough for application engineers to analyze the EM issues of current and future devices and applications. The SEMCAD Huygens is easy to use and can be interfaced with any commercial or in-house code or even measurement results.

SPEAG has developed new algorithms to enhance the effectiveness of this new technique while collaborating with different software houses to provide user-friendly interfaces with different EM packages (WIPL-D and FEKO) and the SEMCAD X solver family.
