New IEC/IEEE 63195 Standards Fully Compatible with DASY8/6, Sim4Life/SEMCAD

Test Today According to New IEC/IEEE 63195 Standards

Two new international standards have been published for assessing human exposure to radiofrequency (RF) fields in the millimeter (mm-)wave range. Our products are already fully compatible with these standards requirements. In fact, DASY8/6 users have been testing to the new standards for regulatory approvals since the final draft already. In addition, the latest versions of our products also empower users to perform compliance testing of devices with sophisticated beamforming multiple input multiple output (MIMO) transmitters.

The two new mm-wave standards define state-of-the-art power density assessment methods in the 6 – 300 GHz frequency range (see Table below). The first standard, IEC/IEEE 63195-1, defines measurement techniques, and the second standard, IEC/IEEE 63195-2, defines computational procedures.

These joint standards allow for regulatory approvals of RF safety for 5G, WiGig and other mm-wave wireless devices, helping to provide public confidence in the safety of these devices and meeting industry demands to provide new technologies with higher data rates and lower latency.

Standard SPEAG Solution
IEC/IEEE 63195-1, “Assessment of power density of human exposure to radio frequency fields from wireless devices in close proximity to the head and body (frequency range of 6 GHz to 300 GHz) – Part 1: Measurement procedure” DASY8/6 Module mmWave V2.2 or higher; V3.0 or higher strongly recommended
IEC/IEEE 63195-2, “Assessment of power density of human exposure to radio frequency fields from wireless devices in close proximity to the head and body (frequency range of 6 GHz to 300 GHz) – Part 2: Computational procedure”

Sim4Life V6.0 or higher

SEMCAD X V19.0 and higher

Our tools are the gold standard for compliance testing. However, we do not stop here, but continuously improve our solutions to enable faster testing with less uncertainty. As in the past, our customers can test today with the standard requirements of tomorrow.
